Hillingdon Community Trust has appointed Ian Campbell, Pro Vice-chancellor of Brunel University as a new Trustee. Ian is a Professor in Sport Sciences and his research work has focused on the responses of wheelchair users to exercise. He is particularly interested in ‘the benefits of activity for people with disabilities’ and ‘factors influencing the performance of wheelchair athletes'.
He led a team providing sport science support to wheelchair racing for 2 Paralympic games and was part of the Great Britain Paralympic support team in the Year 2000, which took place in Sydney, Australia. As part of his current role at Brunel he has special responsibility for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics for the University. Ian has over 10 years’ leadership and management experience in academia and joined Brunel from industry having been Head of Business Development for a leading international management consultancy company.
Ian Campbell commented on his appointment, ‘I am delighted to be joining the Board of Hillingdon Community Trust. I’m hugely impressed by the work that voluntary and community groups do in the south of the Borough and I look forward to working with colleagues on the Trust in supporting those groups and helping to strengthen the community in the Trust’s area.’ |
