The Trust’s January 2008 board meeting approved grants of £123,000 for projects for the southern six wards of the Borough. Small grants were awarded to Harlington Locomotive Society (£2,197) for health and safety improvements and to enable wheelchair access to the platform and to Age Concern Hillingdon (£7,466) for their Time Travellers project which aims to link groups of old and young together in a mutually beneficial and enjoyable way
Disablement Association Hillingdon (DASH) received £46,300 over 3 years to set up an independent living group for the disabled, providing assistance with social networking and leisure activities Hillingdon Law Centre are set to receive £45,000 over 3 years to provide free legal help to clients from Hayes with housing, welfare benefits, employment and immigration.
St Mary the Virgin Church Harmondsworth will be able to arrange lighting for the footpath to their well-used church with a grant of £6,000 and Hayes and Harlington Scouts receive £16,020 to offer kayaking and canoeing sessions to young people. The grant will pay for new kayaks and secure storage for them. |
