1st Harmondsworth Scouts keep dry

The picture shows 1st Harmondsworth Scouts at the end of their winter camp. This local scout group received a grant of £1,630 to buy a large mess tent and two gazebos. Their old tent was worn out and let in the rain. Its very first outing was to winter camp in January.

Scout leader, Janet Woeginger commented, ‘Thank goodness we had the new tent because conditions were exceptional for youngsters camping. The new tent enables everyone to fit into the tent to eat at the same time without getting wet or running the risk of the tent collapsing, which was just one of the problems we had with the old tent!’ The new gazebo is used to give shelter at camps.
