St Mary the Virgin Church Hall – Harmondsworth

This grant of £25,000 was used to refit the church hall, improve the kitchen and improve amenities for disabled people.  As a result, the church hall has been transformed and this has led to a huge increase in use of the hall by the local community.  This is due to the vastly improved kitchen area and the new facilities for disabled people, including toilets and a ramp.  Members of the church carried out some of the work to keep costs down and also local community volunteers were happy to help.  As well as ensuring that the work was done as economically as possible, this helped to bring the community together.

This grant has made a big difference to the use of the hall.  The grant recipients took pains to keep costs to a minimum and a substantial number of local people have benefited and should continue to benefit from the project in the future from all sections of the community.
