Salvation Army Hall refurbishment and new garden room

Salvation Army Hall refurbishment and new garden roomHillingdon Community Trust awarded grants totalling £65,000 towards the refurbishment of the Salvation Army Hall in Coldharbour Lane, Hayes and the building of a new ‘garden room’ for use by local community groups. The refurbished Hall is being used by an increasing number of groups, including Age Concern Hillingdon’s Multicultural Café, Rainbows, Guides and Rangers,Mums & Toddlers and a toy library.

The new garden area and garden room can be used in good weather by the groups. Each week a youth club meets in the Garden Room. There are also plans for ESOL and other classes to be delivered in the newly refurbished Hall and Garden room. The Trust’s grant has therefore helped to create a space, in an area of community need, that is used for recreation, training, as an advice centre, luncheon club, for parenting courses and for mothers’ and toddlers’ groups.
