The Green Corridor – Tree Buddies
The Green Corridor’s Tree Buddies programme received a grant of £4,500 from Hillingdon Community Trust. The aim of Tree Buddies is to improve the environment, quality of life and social cohesion across West London. The Trust’s funding enables year 7 students from Harlington Community School and Rosedale College to take part in creative art and environmental workshops. Activities such as seed gathering and environmental art workshops have been undertaken at the Stable Yard Learning Centre, Chiswick House. At Kew Gardens, the teaching staff designed a ‘trees and their ecosystems’ workshop specifically for the project.
The project aims to integrate young people new to the UK with their new environment, raise awareness about the global environment by acting locally and developing the capacity of young people.
